Synopsis
Bob Hallet (British Journalist) and wife Liz (American Photojournalist) first meet at the Nuremberg Trials where at first they don’t hit it off too well. However, after a little perisitence from Bob they go on a date and this is the start of a love affair that will span more than half a century, dozens of wars and conflicts, personal tragedies and triumphs:
Nuremberg Trials 1946, where Bob and Liz first meet. He a reporter for the London Times she a photojournalist from America.
Their first meeting is antagonistic but they become friends and lovers. Their love affair is short lives as they are sent to cover different stories around the world. They write to each other and eventually meet up in London in 1953 in time for the Coronation of Elizabeth II. There they rekindle their lover affair.
Over the next thirty years they are sent all around the world cover various conflicts and stories, meeting up from time to time to continue their love affair.
During this time Bob continues to ask Liz to marry him but she rejects him. Then in 1976 they are both caught in the London IRA pub bombing where Liz is hurt and finally acquiesces to Bob’s plea to marry him.
A ‘Love Story’ that endures fifty years full of conflicts and wars, disasters and sadness, personal tragedy and everlasting love.
